SAN FRANCISCO---Hyperic Inc., the leader in multi-platform, open-source IT management, today announced that MuleSource, a leading provider of open source infrastructure and integration software, will use Hyperic's flagship product, Hyperic HQ, as the foundation for its new monitoring and management system, Mule HQ. The new Mule HQ management tools will be available to MuleSource customers in Q4 2006.

With Mule HQ, enterprises using Mule in production will gain the ability to:

* Monitor and manage Mule instances from a single location

* Auto-Discover Mule servers, associated software and hardware
* Report real-time and historical details of any event generated by any managed resource

"As Mule production use continues to grow, enterprises need a practical way to monitor and manage their deployment," said Dave Rosenberg, CEO of MuleSource. "By incorporating Hyperic's technology into Mule HQ, we are able to provide our users with a single interface that they can use to manage systems across their entire infrastructureÑregardless of the combination of hardware and software they are using."

Mule is a Java-based, open source ESB and integration platform that enables enterprise developers to perform a wide variety of integration tasks, from bringing new applications into production, to modernizing legacy applications and platforms, to enabling SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture). With hundreds of production deployments worldwide, Mule is the industry's most battle-tested open source integration approach.

"Mule is the fastest-growing open source platform for integration, supporting a broad range of technologies, protocols and deployment options," said Hyperic CEO Javier Soltero. "This means that Mule users are integrating a wide range of different types of systems, and need a management system that is truly cross-platform. We're pleased that MuleSource has selected Hyperic's technology to help make Mule-supported systems easy and affordable to manage."
